Message: I have used it and it works just like red line claims. I can not use it in my 2001 because it is not campatiable with the long life coolant that Dodge uses in their system. That is what I gathered from reading the service manual. It does not come right out and name brands it just lumps coolant additives into one general do not use heading. They also say not to use engine or trans products that have chemical in them that expand seals in this engine. If you system if just a poly ethelene glycol type system then it should handle the plain water/water wetter from redline just fine. I used it in my toyota with a race preped 4 cylinder and with a corvette engine.

Message: I use it in my '99 Dakota, '98 Trans Am, '99 KTM, & '79 Long tractor. Works great. Stopped overheating problems on my KTM when I am racing enduros that are in tight woods. You won't see any difference on the temp guage. The benefit is in the heat exchange between the metal and the coolant. It is more efficient and the block is cooler. The guage reads coolant temp. This is nothing new. We have been using it in the fire service for 20+ years now. It simply breaks down the surface tension of water. Soap will do the same but this stuff has a surfactant added so you don't have trouble with bubbles.
Ice cream cones will cool the engine too but only until the ice cream melts. LOL

Message: Do you have to drain coolant before adding the water wetter, i.e. is it in lieu of coolant or an additive to the coolant.

Message: 99Durango - You have to take out just enough coolant to make room for the bottle of water wetter. I use a 40/60 ratio of antifreeze to water. I can get away with that ratio because I live in south Louisiana. Water cools better than antifreeze in case no ones told you before. Sandman has the best mixture for cooling but I've had problems with water pump lubrication and seal failure when there isn't enough antifreeze.
