I figured that, I have a friend with a GMC canyon, we were at the stop light, we talked a little then the light turned green I signaled him to go, he took off, I didn't want to race, so I was just driving normal, he probably thought that i wanted to race. He should know better anyways, he knows I do not have a stock truck.
2001 Dakota 4x4 Club Cab with 3.55 gears 5 speed HD, HO cams, KN FIPK, 70mm TB, Headers, Flowmaster Exaust.
I figured there wasn;t much to them Canyons so I looked them up, and they only have 220 HP, and 225 TQ, that is pretty weak, compared to my 260 + HP, and 330 + TQ 4.7L.
P.S. I let him get about 10 car lengths ahead, then I hit 3rd, and I was catching up to him really quick.

but from what I hear, they are fairly quick, and I know that my truck probably weights a couple of hundred pounds more.

Last weekend i raced my friends acura with the 3.5 inline 5 i smoked him by almost 10 carlengths when i hit the brakes at about 95 or so.......his car weighs tons less than a colorado or a canyon so i dont think they could be much of a contest.
2000 Red CC 4.7L, 3.55, Auto, cherry bomb muffler

Acura made a Inline 5???? Since when? I have never seen it. 4 Cyl. and V6 that are VTEC or Type-S. Someone show me an Acura I-5 first, then I will argue that a good Acura won't lose, as long as the drive has a clue what they are doing.

The Canyons and Colorados are fast if they're 2wd regular cabs. Even then they run around 15.8

It is a 1997 acura vigor 3.5 inline 5 front wheel drive, auto. LOOK IT UP.......because im pretty sure its an inline 5. I know its sounds funny, and I made the same speculation when i heard that. And I know the driver had a clue b/c thats all the kid does is race muscle cars around and hes worked on drag times for the last 5 years in his 64 fairlane......so im not really pullin this outa my ass...

my friend has a club cab 4x4 GMC Canyon, maybe an Automatic tranny, I am not sure on the gears though,
I was just playing with him, I don't think he wants to run em.
here are my mods on my 2001 club cab 4x4 Dak (more elaborate than above)
3.55 rear, 5 speed HD tranny
70mm F/B TB , Gibson Shorties, KN FIPK, Mopar HO cams, Flomaster 40 series.
I will give the canyon this, they do have decent acceleration, just not by a Dakota's Standards. he might get the jump on me with auto, but I will pass him once I hit 2nd and 3rd.

I test drove a canyon with the inline 5 cylinder. All I can say is POS!!They are not fast at all and they sound like crap inside. Dakota vs. Canyon would not even be considered a race.

8.9, that is pretty Slow, a Stock Dakota Clubcab 4x4 is in the 7s with a manual, and I know mine is in the 7s, because like everyone else on these forums have beefed up 4.7s.

I did look it up and '94 was the last year of the Vigor. Plus it's only a 2.5 I-5. Thanks for the idea to look it up. My source is Kelly Blue Book. What does that have to do with a 3.5 Canyon? GM and Acura aren't related, too my knowledge... Acura is Honda, not owned by GM, but I could be wrong about this, but not the other info.

That's why I said what I did. It wasn't meant to be a comeback because it pissed me off personally, rather because you were being a dick to others who didn't deserve it. What would a forum be for if fellow Dak lovers couldn't come on here and ask questions concerning their trucks and recieve others opinions? Also, as I stated before, you're still a dickass.
