Message: I agree there. Any good air filtration system that flows more air and filters better than OEM will make a huge difference. You've got good air flow coming in, now you need to let it out, such as headers and custom exhaust pipes, with a free flowing cat and a free flowing muffler.

Message: Well funny you should mention it... I ordered a Mopar 3in. cat back exhaust from Wyckoff Mopar...
should be here any day. I have already done the 180 thermostat and the autolite 3923 plugs and plant to do a Flowmetrics 50 mm. throttle body on next. Cant wait till its all done.

Message: dont get the mopar cat back. i got one, and the shop that installed it said its the same system as gibson just with mopar stamped on it. and its is more expencive.
also when i put it on i didnt notice a diferance in performance. it did sound WAY better though, even with a intake and TB. i was told that the flowmaster makes more power than the mopar on the 318. i think im going to change to a flowmaster soon

98 R/T's used a custom "Mopar" performance exhaust. They used a cheap Dynomax muffler. Haven't heard that about the gibson system...but who knows, they use K&N and put their name on it. ;)

Message: MOPAR uses MSD also, puts a black wrinkle finish and their name on it. I am really pleased with the Flo-Pro performance muffler, it is along the Dynomax design, not chambered like the Flowmaster. Do a web search and there will be lots of positive testimonials.

Message: $240 seems good. most gibson cat back go for about that. i have seen mopar cat back go for $300-320.
what I for got about when i got my exhaust is, on a flow bench the straight through mufflers like gibson, borla, dynomax, ect... flow more because they are flowing constent air. when they are connected to a engine, the flowmaster flows more because the engine exhaust is not a constent flow, it pulses when each cylender ignights. and that's what makes more power.
