Message: thats why no one uses them generic headers, they don't seal. Should have picked up a set of mopar headers or better yet GSM,I bought my mopars for $200 used but perfect shape,no problems

Message: Take it to a machine shop and get them to mill the flanges. This should help.

Message: Sorry to hear about your bad luck with those last resort headers. Good luck on your next purchase of some PPH headers or HOOKERS or something that is known for quality.

Message: I had some of them crappy headers. Mine also leaked. Turns out it wasn't from the gasket flange though even though that's where it sounded like it was coming from. After the 3rd set of gaskets leaked I took them off again #$%^@! and held them up to a light and could see daylight around the tubes where they come out of the flange. They were never welded good. Had a bud weld them good and then they didn't leak

A few other tips is some people cut the long flange in bewteen the ports in a few places to allow expansion. Weather that helps or not????
On my Ford 302's I'd chuck them fancy header material gaskets into the trash after they leaked every time guarenteed! Used the STOCK grey/metal type of exhaust gasket that you use with the stock manifolds.
Never another leak. And you could practically pop a header off when you needed to and re attach it with the old gasket and it STILL never leaked.

Message: just a little fyi, i have flowtechs and never had a problem with them, but i would guess you have a weld thats crappy at the collector as well. good luck.
ps if you have a problem finding it have a buddy plug up both tail pipes with rags while you look for it. some people suggest a teaspoon of ATF fluid in the intake while running. it acts as detergent cleaning the carbon, and inturn results in smoke from the tail pipe. DO NOT NEED VERY MUCH...it will show the source..
