Thought I'd pass on that I found a G-Tech Pro Competition for $220 shipped via a search through Yahoo shopping, and an RR model for $260 from truckxpressions.com. I bought the RR model, as I would have still needed to buy an AC adapter and the software for the Competition model.

After reading up some on the G-Techs recently, I decided to look into buying one. Last time I checked into them, their accuracy was quite debatable. But now it seems the Pro Competition and the SS and RR models are giving consistent results, even if not totally accurate when compared to actual timeslips.

I checked eBay, Froogle, and Yahoo shopping to try and find the best deal. eBay looked like it was mostly personal partys, which I tend not to trust very well. The best price I found (delivered) for a new Pro Competition, which can be firmware upgraded to an RR, was $220 from somewhere on Yahoo shopping. But then I found that the RR was selling on truckxpressions.com for $290 minus a 10% discount for an online order, with free shipping. That turns into $261 for an RR.

Anyway, just in case someone is looking...

I have the Competition Pro, upgraded to the RR. I like it. It is pretty accurate. The hardest thing is getting it mounted to where it does not move. The clip on mine cracked, and it did not like my windsheild very much. I ended up using zip ties to secure it to my dash right above the headlight switch in a GenII dakota. Works well, and when installed it is very secure. The PASS software also works well, with lots of data.

The RR is actually slightly better than the one I have because it has more onboard memory and can store a longer road run. Dragstrips are plenty though.

I bought mine off a Sentra board that popped up in Google when I was searching for it. Paid $150 shipped.
