MY R/T when running about 60 to 65mph shifts back and forth from third to forth. Is this normal with the R/T?Really gettin on my nerves can it be fixed? Thanks

Could it be the torque converter locking and unlocking (about 300rpm jump) instead of it downshifting?

Is that normal for the converter to do that or is it going bad? To me the truck doesn't shift normal through all the gears. Maybe its just me always had manual trannies

It shouldnt be locking and unlocking if you are just cruising at a constant speed (unless if you are towing up a hill or something). There are some other posts about this problem, I think its the solenoid going bad or something along those lines.

Before ripping into the tranny slap a TPS in it. It's easy and cheap from autozone. If it's messed up it will "hunt" about 300rpm.

I had a 700R4(GM tranny) and the TV cable was not adjusted proper and I had a 600mile trip and it must have downshifted 500times.
