Message: Ooops; I should have found a more recent post: "4.7L HO cams info". HO= .475" intake/ .429" exhaust. Stock= .440" intake/ .429" exhaust. Yes, the exhaust lift is the SAME on both cams.

Message: I called superchips tuesday, and the release date has been extended to the end of december.
They said the chip is completed but more testing needs to be done to fine tune it. I could not get any numbers on hp or trq, just that it will cost $465 bucks. Looks like this chip may be a stocking stuffer for X-mass.

Message: I'm on their list to get one, etc.
BUT, I have a manual tranny (thank GOD) I already have the HO cams and intake, ported TB, no third cat, no belt fan/clutch, homebrew 'true' CAI, etc.
$465 !?!
For that price, if it doesn't get my set up at least 30-40 HP, I'm sending it back.
I e'mailed with my concerns, after reading on another DAK site that with my mods, they saw no gains already, and they basically said to try it, and there's a 30 day money back guarantee.
Now I know for most of you, who did things like a 'cat back', and spent about this much on a mod, that not getting any measurable gains for an over $400 dollar mod doesn't bother you. But I bought my HO cams when they were were still $53 dollars a piece from dealers, and installed them myself, etc. I'm not dumping anywhere close to $460 dollars on a mod unless it has some REAL measurable improvements!
Now, I do hope with their extra tweeking, that they will in fact, come up with a tuner, that will do what I need it to, especally for that much money.

Message: I'm running the group buy on Dodgetalk.com and get an e-mail tuesday stating it would be released on the 29th of this month. The only problem they were having was with packaging. Also our group buy is going to sell for $305 each, you all might want to join it.
Thanks

Message: If they're only $300'ish through a GB,,I'd definitely be interested.
For what it's worth I emailed Superchips about the HO cams thing too (I have them in my '01 4.7), and this is the response I got:
"As long as the cam is stock a stock unit from Dodge I do not see a problem. If it is a MOPAR part then the tuner might not work as well as it could. The tuner is designed to work with a stock application only at this point. If the stock computer is taking the cam then our tuner should as well.
Al "
Take from it what you want. Just make sure those HO cams say DODGE on them! Gee,,,I forgot to look,,but the box and packaging from mine are infront of me now,,,"MOPAR" all over it. Hmmm oh-well,,,it's worth a try I guess. 30day Money back Guarantee....

Message: WAIT a sec...
I thought superchips was coming out with a PROGRAMMER???
I hope this isn't just a INLINE "chip" or so called mod that goes inline with the PCM wiring harness is it? That's what jet chip sells. It does NOTIHING for RPM limiter, etc. It just messes with the IAT resisitance and other sensor circuits.
It this superchips is not a tuner (like I was lead to believe) I'm going to be bummed!

Message: Hey graphite, this is a programmer. It plugs in to your port under the steering wheel, select the setting you want then unplug it and the PCM is programed. The guy at superchips told me the engine programing is a go, but it's the extras like tire size calibration and top speed limiter that their trying to fine tune.
Hope the info helps.

Message: Sorry rgathright, I'm not the jeffster. I used to log on as burnt rubber or burning rubber something like that a few years ago,
but my betterhalf got on me about having to buying a new set of tires every year. So I dropped any reference towards wearing out tires.
Out a sight, out a mind! I have a '01 QC bought in may of '01 and just had my 5th set of tires put on end of september. I figure with this superchip, tire wear should be good for 9-10 months.

Message: Okay everyone, I'm ignorant of what a chip is or does, although I can guess; I just bought a used 02 QC SLT+ 4.7 4x4 with 26k miles on it. It's just got a drop-in K&N, although I plan on getting a catback system and maybe a FIPK. Given my setup, is a chip something I should consider, if so, what do I do once I get it--is it something I can easily install and configure myself, or do I need to take it somewhere? Thanks.

Message: unless you want a different sound, for alot of money, don't buy a 'cat back', like most others do. Most don't even know what it really means.
If you get one, why don't you have them split it into like 10 tailpipes, and act like it's got a v10 with straight pipes!
You won't see any gains, but your wallet will be lighter, so that may help you some.

Message: Terraformer, congrats on the kota purchase. Hope you have fun with her.
For Starters is absolutely correct. If you want more proof, look at the stock 4.7L Y-pipe on my homepage. This Y-pipe is the weak link in your exhaust and it will not be replaced with a catback system. A simple solution would be to have a muffler shop weld in a better y-pipe for $75 at the same time they put on a $100 Flowmaster 50 series muffler.

One question I have for you right now is what did you do to reduce vehicle weight by 300lbs. Please be as specific as possible.
Thanks in advance
