Watch out if you have aftermarket rims, exaust is much higher temp when it exits out the side in front of the rear tire. Remember a couple years ago when ford did the side exaust thing on the f-150, they soon changed it because it was ruining the rims and distorting the tires. Looks cool but beware.

There is so much BS out there. Over the years I have ran several cars with the exhaust dumping right ahead of the rear tires and never had any wheel problems, chrome, aluminum or painted. The tire distorting is so far out there it has me rotflmao.

Maybe it depends on wether the tips clear the tire or not ? Exhaust gas and rubber definitely aren't a good combination. I've had a holed header dry rot a rubber gas line very quickly; and ran a truck without a tail pipe when it rusted off and that ruined the spare tire tucked underneath the bed. Maybe it has less effect on a rotating tire, but exhaust gas is very corrosive to rubber.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

I agree; they look great and I've been very happy with my Spintech Sportsman muffler run out the back.
