Subject: will it fit???? IP: Logged
Message: I am looking to start a project truck. If i get a 1995 RC 4
cylinder, how hard will it be for me to drop a 318 in there? Will it
all mount up?

Message: The 318 was a factory option, so it will drop right in there with the right off the shelf motor mounts.
But why bother? You have to change so many components that you might as well get a 318 equipped truck to start with.

Message: If you can get around any emmision requirements in your state, go with a carbureted big block. It would be less work and more rewarding. 4 banger to BB V8, what more can I say? The only major change would be the rear end, because you would have to replace the tranny anyway.

Message: Im changing everything anyways so it doesn't really matter what
it starts out with. Im putting in a fuel injected supercharged 390
stroker with about a 150 shot of nitrous so Im doing a complete
rebuild. I just want the lightest truck possible, just wanted to see
what kind of trouble I would run into mounting the engine.
