Message: I just don,t get it. 3 years ago I took my bone stock 2000R/T R.C. to the track and ran 15.09@87mph, just went to the track wed night ran a 15.01@90 mph and backed it up with a 15.38@88mph a half hour later. The dew was setting in around then ( first run at 9pm) Since my first outing however I have put in a 180 thermostat, colder plugs, open element air filter. hypertech power-programmer,accel 300+ digital ignition system, accel cap & rotor, msd 8.8 super conducter wires, and milled the airhorns off the throttle body and gave it the dremel port& full polish job. Whats up with this?

Message: its like I have said many times, on a MODERN electronic ignition vehicle, MSD is a WASTE of money as there is NO BENEFIT below 6000 RPM and now you have proof, the airhorn mill job is a wives tail, colder plugs only help IF YOU ARE PINGING ONLY and the same goes for a colder thermostat, but a colder stat can sometimes get you a MIL light and always more sulferdioxide output. most of the things the guys swear works is tested only by ther butt dyno's and reports of improvements are wishfull thinking. The only thing that will get you more is computer tinkering as in Hypertech or some other brand and more air in, more air out, as in massive amounts, ie. head jobs, 1.7 rockers. larger TB's headers, valve changes (larger) and cams. all else really does nothing. I get most of my enterainment from reading the idiotic things they promote, and seeing the lemmings follow it to a "T".

I guess the FastMan should quit taking them off and F&B should be adding them.
"colder plugs only help IF YOU ARE PINGING ONLY and the same goes for a colder thermostat"
It seems like the majority of the people complain about pinging. Could that be why there is so much interest?
Even many of the other items that you mentioned, taken individually, can degradate performance.
