I was wondering if anyone new roughly how much it would cost for the average mechanic's shop to put in a new camshaft for me? 98 5.2L Thanks in advance

If you have a V8 isnt that 2 camshafts? 1 per cylinder head? BTW good question, I would like to know myself.... BUMP!

actually its the 4.7 that has the over head cam shafts. The 5.2 has the single push rod style

It's about a 4 hour job; so probably $250-300 in labor.

i just paid $320 plus $20 for misc parts. slight break cause i knew the owner but i think 370 reg.

oops that's for my 4.7. some say it's easier but there are two of them. 5.1 hrs or something like that. (rated by the book anyway)
