Subject: frreeze plugs IP: Logged
Message: I am replacing the 2 freeze plugs behind my 5.2L. I was wanting to know if the "Expand-Tite" plugs are better than the steel ones. To me the expand ones seem better because i can tighten the nut and know that it is a tight seal. Ill be doing them later tonight so i was wondering ......

Message: The "Expand-Tite" plugs are a "quick fix". Brass Freeze plugs are the best for the block.

Message: I have a 1990 Dakota with a 3.9 V6, I've been having cooling problems, I have a strong leak that seems to be coming from the rear of the engine, almost seems to be coming out from the bellhousing? not sure, are there freezeplugs inside the bellhousing on the engine? What else could be my problem
