Subject: Head light out...how do I pull the headlight IP: Logged
Message: I have a headlight bulb out or unplugged. I am not sure which because I had some strobe lights installed for work related purposes when we are the road ways. It helps keeping people from running me over.
Now, I am thinking either this guy didn't plug it back up or destroyed my bulb. Either way, I can't figure out how to get the headlight to pull out.
Do I just loosen all those screw holding it in? Or will those screw up the alignment?
Thanks in advance,
Eric

Message: I have a Dakota 4x4 Quad Cab 2001. It is the pasenger side front. Low beam is out but high beam works. So, I guess I have a bad bulb? Not sure how these work.

Message: Eric,
You don't have to take any screws out. Reach your arm in through the hole in the radiator support right behind the headlight. I find it easiest if you lean over your right fender and reach in with your left hand. You will have to feel around because you can't see what you are doing. When I do it, I leave the bulb plugged up until I get it out of the housing. There is a plastic collar that you will feel. Turn it counter clockwise for like 1/4 of a turn. Then the bulb should pull out. You can then pull it out and unplug it. Then just replace the bulb and put it back in. Be sure not to touch the glass part of the new bulb! Be sure you get the collar back on good-you will feel it click into place. That should do it for you!

Message: Thanks guys.
We ended up removing the air intake assembly and we had a straight shot at the headlight. Not a bad job at all.
I will try to document this step by step and post my install. We need to get an install base going like I have for my 99 Z28. :D
