Message: The 4.7 in a club cab will run mid-low 15's. In a RC, the 4.7 might squeak out a high 14 (manual). Versus the R/T, it would be close. I have personally beat a CC R/T easily on the street off the line. Put at least 1-2 car lengths on him by 60, twice (though, the first run wasn't fair for him, reason I went twice) :-)
I have a 97 CC SLT 5.2L, with several bolt-on's, and at that time was probably running high 15's, now I'll run a 15.4. R/T driver probably didn't know how to drive, but hey, I beat him :-)
Have fun with the 5.0's. I've raced several on the track and street. I don't know how well the 4.7 is off the line, but with mine, I beat every single one of them off the line, but they pass me up at 45 and wave bye-bye.

Message: Most of the 4.7s have 3.55 rear gears. A five speed manual 4.7 with 3.92 gears should set the pace; if you don't have that combo expect the RT to win. Have fun !

Message: Ahh, that is true. I'm stuck with the 3.55 gears. Although, last time at the track, I did manage to pull off a 2.229 60' time with my best run of 15.42. That beat my previous best of 15.65. Main difference was, I was manually shifting 1-2 and 2-D. Keep it in gear another 300-400 RPM :-) When it hits 3rd gear, she just dies, man I need more HP! :-)

No man, not at all. In fact I'm kinda thinking, with all the mods available for the R/T, I may should've bought one of those instead. Check my thread, "Durango mods" for what I have.
