Subject: Best exhaust IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering what the best exhaust for a 2000 V6 3.9L Quad Cab would be. I dont want a loud exhaust, i hate taht, i jsut want that sinister low rumble. My friend has a cheap 2.2L Honda, and the Catback system on taht thing makes it sound lower than mine! So i was wonderin what a few of yall owned and recommended, and where i could be able to find one! Any help would be awesome.

Message: I have had factory quiet, too loud, and louder than factory quiet. I'm currently running factory pipes and a Dynomax super turbo 2 1/2 in and out. The muffler will set you back $45 from jegs.com

Message: Go to the muffler shop and ask for a OME muffler for a 1988-89 chevy 350. It is a 3" in and a dual 2" out, or a 3"in 3" out same year model. They are rated for cars and trucks with 200-250 hp.Cost is about 60.00. Very deep @ low rpms and quiet at 2500+. I love mine and it didn't kill the torque. I have had most of the brand names, flow, gib.,magna., ect. Most of the free flowing mufflers lose so much low end the gains on the top don't make up for it.

Message: you cant beat the sound of a 3" dynomax ultraflo, nice and throaty not too bad in the cab either unlike a blowmaster

Message: a flowmaster 70 BB is a bit quieter the an ultraflo after the glass packing in the ultra flo burns out the f 70 BB does not have glass packing, so in the long run is quieter then the ultra flo is after only 2 months as that is about how long the glass in the dyno max lasts

Message: I was wonderin what the difference between a catback and a regular muffler is. Air goes straight through a regular one, but is backed up in the catback, right? Whats the advantages/disadvantages of both. Im looking for one which will let me make my V6 sound like a V8. (Couldn't get 5.9 L, cuz my parents thought i'd race with it...pretty good thinking")

Message: I've got an MBRP cat back...best sounding exhaust out there without being too loud or without sounding like a lawnmower. I've got the 4.7l so I have no idea what it will sound like on a V6.

Message: I have a 2000 V6 Club Cab and through referrals on this site I replaced the existing muffler with a Dynomax Super Turbo part# 17748 and am very happy with it. It's not so loud that you can't hear anything else, but sounds much better than the original. I purchased it at JEGS for $42.99 and had a local shop put it on. Total cost was about $100.

Message: Ya, i think im gonna buy a Dynomax muffler. Ive heard the best reports on them. Is that super turbo a muffler, or an exhaust tip with a resonating chamber?
any further input is always appreciated.

Message: I got stock piping to a 3" in/dual 2.5" out Flowmaster 40 muffler. I like it. Nice deep rumble, not loud at all. Compliments my 4.7L.

Message: I would not go with a gibson on the v6. I just took one off mine that was so loud in the cab that I hated driving it.
I replaced it with a flowmaster 70. The flowmaster sounds much better. Better low end torque with the flowmaster compared to the gibson.
