just bought a 97 4x4 club cab 5.2 v8 w/ 72k miles 3 in. lift with 33 in tires. live at high altitude and it is a dog!!! willing to spend $1000.00 or so to get some power. chips, programmers, intakes, exhaust, etc... where is my money best spent??

I'm willing to bet there's still factory 3.55's in there. Go with 4.10's or at least some 3.92's to get it moving a bit better. Then get the air moving in and out. Intake, larger throttle body, headers, true duals, and a PCM. That'll wake it up and it's easy stuff to do.
