Message: Hmm sounds like a deal. Have you tried www.car-parts.com? They have PCMs coming out their ears.

Message: Used PCM's have a few issues..1) if the VIN# is flashed in, it can't be re-flashed...I called Mopar Tech on that.
2) the Brake and ABS lights wil likely be on because of # 1.
3) I've heard that if the original owner had a security system that can also affect its usability.

Message: N There just has to be a VIN in for the lights. I have a used PCM with a different VIN in it. The VIN in the PCM will not keep it from working in another vehicle. The security system may. If the original owner has a factory security system, the PCM will work work in a truck that does not have the security system. If the buyer has the security system the PCM will work. I've have a used VIN flashed pcm that works in my 99 Durango. Both of us had the security system. I've tried my stock PCM in a non security system equipped vehicle, and it does not work. I've also tried a non security equipped PCM in my truck. (Dan Arcand aka Fastman) Thank goodness I did not activate the alarm The security system is not in the PCM (the same part number works for both) but something gets set in the PCM when it is activated. This has gone around and around. I read from others on Dodge forums who have come to the same conclusion that it is the alarm feature.

Message: Ok thanks, I guess I could just get it flashed another time. I will just have to put up with the lights. Also the PCM from the truck it came from had the security system, as mine has.
