Subject: Bigger Injectors?
IP: Logged

Message:
Do I need bigger injectors for this setup? I want to benefit the most from my setup.

5.2L 4x4
with the following mods
- Elec. Fan
- K&N FIPK
- 50mm TB
- M-1
- 1.7rr
- JBA headers & new exhaust

This fall I'll probably buy a cam and get the PCM flashed for the setup, but do I need to go to bigger FI's now? Stock are 19#, a friend might be selling his 24's in a little bit.

Any opinions?

The 19lbs should suit your needs up until around 305 horsepower. You might be close to that or already there now, but they'll definetely come in handy when the cam is installed.

That's what I was thinking, just like the second opinion.

Thanks

YOu might want to consider the 01 R/T injectors, they're set at 21...24 MIGHT be an overkill, creating carbon buildup, over fueling (=you'll spend more at the pump!) I wouldn't use the 24's until you get the cam, AND a 52mm TB....I've heard (for my 5.9..) that you don't needto up injectors until you replace both...but mine's an 01' so it has the 21 injectors....
