Message: The a500 is really the same trans as a old 904 just with a overdrive unit. It can be built to handle around 500 ponies max. This is with the right parts. Check out www.hughesperformance.com they have some really nice kits for the a500. I had my a500 built at bilbrey racing transmissions in Louisville KY. They installed a hughes kit in it. I got the Premium overhaul Race box kit with Kolene steels. I've only got 4 1/8th mile runs on the tranny so far but I'm really happy with it's performance.
