Subject: ANY THOUGHT ABOUT SWITCHING FROM R&P TO IP: Logged
Message: ANY 1 THOUGHT ABOUT SWITCHING FROM R&P TO TAKING THE INTER. SHAFT, PITMAN ARM, AND DRAG LINK FROM A '99 DAK. THEN PURCHASING A '99 LIFT. CAN IT BE DONE? SHOULD I TRY? EVERYTHING IS THE SAME RIGHT. EXCEPT THE STEERING.

Message: Hehe.. If I would have known how indepth I was.. I would have tried it. If you are mechanically inclined you could try it. But don't forget if you ever want to lift your truck the lifts available are going to be for R&P not for Reciprating Ball or what ever the heck it's called.

Message: I think that's what he is saying Knobby. Take the Recirculating ball steering off of a 99 and put it on your 2000+ Dak and then buy the old style Rancho or tuff country lift for 97-99.

jdaniels. I think it can be done but it would require a little extra work because dodge changed the frame to accomidate the R&P so the location to mount the recirculating ball (pitman arm) and motor would change.

Message: Yea it'd be a real pain.
If you could do it though.... I honistly don't think it'd be worth it. Unless you switched out the axles and did a lift at the same time.
