Subject: Anybody near Richmond, Virginia?? IP: Logged
Message: Is anybody close to Richmond?? I'm always looking for folks to go wheelin' with. I haven't been into wheelin' for many years and lost touch with my off road buddies. I know a few people who go but it isn't often enough for me. I can't get enough of ridin' the trails!!

Message: I am in Northern VA about 2 hours away. Would be willing to give it a try one weekend if possible. I am a novice to trail riding and my truck is still basically stock. (...do have tow hooks front and rear just in case or for when I do get stuck!) ;) Where do you go and what type of trails do you run?

Message: We go around the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is a place called Crabtree Falls. Lots of rugged trails. I took my stock truck a few times and did ok but I couldn't go everywhere the raised jeeps could go. I got a 3" body lift and 32" tires and Rancho 9000 shocks. I just went this past weekend and now I can go everywhere the other guys go!! Woohoo!! I had a blast!! I will get film developed soon and can email pics. Just send email address and I'll send pics. If you look on a Virginia map find Charlottesville then follow 29 south until halfway to Lynchburg. At Colleen follow 56 west and you should see Crabtree Falls on the map. It would take about the same amount of time to get there from N. VA. as it does from Richmond. Roughly 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Message: Forgot to mention. It's mostly rock crawling. Steep hills. Very little mud. Several stream crossings no more than 2 feet deep usually. If you get stuck it will be because you bottomed out on a rock or high burm.
