Message: Hey I just need to get this off coz I'm still scared...
I brought my buddies for alittle off-road trek...nothing big just get the truck dirty.
I was leaving and I saw a decent size mud hole and I said in my head what the hell give them a thrill. So I took it out of 4 Wheel and just jam'ed the gas.....2 sec's later I lose control and end up Literlity a 1/2 away from a tree on my left side. I thought for sure I broke something...damaged....scraped..etc. My heart was in my mouth. But I got it out with no problem and drove really sloww all the way home.......
Wow that feels better now....Thankx Guys{ and Ladies}

Message: Sept 8th last year. I was out off-roading with some of the local Durango Club folks. We had gotten 10+ inches of nice, fluffy snow in the mountains the night before...and it was continuing to spit out a little snow.
I got dared to run up a hill...the only way one could tell there was a trail there was the clear cut through the trees. Everything went fine until I got to the top & found that the other side was littered with boulders....apparently the Park rangers had blocked off the road on the backside of the hill.
As I was turning the ol' Quad Cab around, the front end started getting sucked into a ditch that was hidden under that lovely white stuff. The rest happened in slow motion.
The front end slid into a ditch, where weight & momentum started carrying me along this downhill-facing ditch. As it slid along, I saw a tree coming up...and given the position of the passenger front tire/fender, I knew that there was going to be contact. Just as the front end "kissed" the tree my Dak came to a stop. It ended up scuffing the front edge of that fender flare & knocking just the plastic part of the Magnum V8 badge off (left the rubberized backing & adhesive).
As I was pulling out the winch cable to get myself outta there, I found out that a basketball-sized rock had stopped my sliding....just keeping me from seriously FUBAR'ing the passenger fender & headlight assembly. *PHEW*
