Subject: Vulnerable Front End IP: Logged
Message: I have a '01 Dakota QuadCab 4.7L. Right behind the front bumper you can find the transmission cooler in front of the radiator(stock). I feel this is vulnerable spot for large rocks or potential road kill. If something were to rip off or penatrate the transmission cooler/radiator I would be hurting for a way to get home. Also where do you tow from? Is there a bolt-on I can add for more protection and a tow point?
I have looked at the Westin Safari bar but it doesn't have a place to pull from.
Thanks,
Wayne

Message: Check out what I did. Draw-tite Front mount receiver and skid plate. It may not look as good as some bull bar or something, but it does the job.

Message: The pictures are too dark to see anything but the yard next to your rig. It appears to tuck out of the way very well though.

Message: I made my own "custom" grills out of 3/8 inch mesh stainless steel
screen which I purchased from Pegasus Automotive Racing Products

(they completely protect my trans cooler and radiator from any road
or trail debris/rocks)

Message: Kevin,
Can you put a drop light on it when you take the picture? That, or turn your rig around so the sun is shining on the front of it. I would really like to see this front hitch. It is obviously well tucked out of the way.
