never heard of it before...you can fabricate it but it really doesn't make much sense. I'm not telling you what to do to your truck but I wouldn't bother. You can really use only one or the other.

Yeah I did it. Not sure if I would recomend it or not. It took alot of time and patience. I had the cover first, got use to it and the good look of it. Then got a rollbar, so I cut holes in the cover fitting tightly around the bars of the roll bar. To brace it up, I used 3in fernco connectors cut in half to make 2 3in rings and folded the cover material under it and tightened it down. Then got some vinyl glue and some black vinyl/canvas ? (dont know exactly what it is) and made fixed squares around the holes to strengthen the cover itself. My cover is the kind that works on the tension rail system. So Tension is VIP. If your gonna try it, get a cover with the snaps. That way you dont have to worry about the tension aspect. It has been a "try it out and see" kinda thing but I do like it now. Hope I helped.

I have the Extang railed Tonneau on my 88 Dakota with the factory light bar. I took the cover down to a local upholstery shop and had them fit it around the bars. They reinforced it around the holes with some additional vinyl and stitched it all together with a couple of extra snaps to secure it down to the rail. Never had a problem with it. Sorry, this is the best photo I have of it. It’s an old picture from 4 or 5 years ago.

Dang Walt, my truck looks very much like yours does in that picture. So this means that if I can get a 4in lift, then I can run with you right? OK, hope for the future...
I did my cover myself. Would have been easier to do take it to a shop. But why do things the easy way. I did it cuz I like the look of the roll bar, and I like the look/functionality of the cover so I made it work. My tonneau also has no snaps. Its all the rail system. Hope this helps.
Joe E.
Walt, how do you post a pict on this site within a forum like the one above?

Joe, you should have no problem running with me now. I’ve finally had time to look at the truck and figure out what’s wrong with the motor. Looks like I might have spun a crank bearing. I found the #5 spark plug got mashed and wasn’t firing. Re-gapped the plug and started the truck back up. It seemed like it was running OK. Shortly later, it happens again. Both the #5 & #6 plugs got mashed this time. 220k, it doesn’t owe me anything. Looks like its time to drop a crate motor in there.

SuperBee is correct, it’s html code like below,
[a href=" http://www.walt-n-ingrid.com" target="_blank"][/a]

Just change all of the [ to < and the ] to >. I changed them here so you could see the text instead of the image.

h1 align="center" centers it in the frame

a href=" http://www.walt-n-ingrid.com" is the destination of the link.

target="_blank" opens the link in a new window. Without it, it will open in the active window.

img src=" http://www.walt-n-ingrid.com/images/More6/bush6.jpg" is the image source.

alt="Walt-n-Ingrid's ’88 Dakota" is the mouse over text.

border="2" set a 2 pixel border around the link.

[/a] is the closing bracket for the link command.

I have a word document with my sig file on my desktop. I just type what I have to say in it and copy and paste it onto the forums. It also allows me to spell check since my spelling is almost as bad as my typing.

Yeah, I know about that spelling thing. I wish I had the funds and knowledge to install a crate motor. I would love to buy a Mag 318. Then replace heads, cam, intake manifold, lifters, headers, and free exhaust. Maybe a SC along sometime. I have seen them running 340 HP. A hell of alot better than the terrible 125 we have. Good Luck.
Walt, to run something past you. The main problem with lifting 2wd Daks is the rack/pinion. If I was to go more than 3in suspension lift, is there a way to place the tie rod end higher on the spindle? I saw this on a new kit for a Chevy or something. They basically took a spacer and a longer bolt and raised the tie rod end up 2 inches to clear a lift without changing the spindle. I have the rough country 2in spacers now but want to replace it with the ever contriversial AIM 3in lift. And I want to put a 1in spacer atop that. I know it is iffy, but just a thought. By the way, If I replaced the 2in with a 3in lift, could I run 32x11.50 instead of 31x10.50s? Maybe more trimming possible. Thanx.
Joe E.
