Subject: Rancho RSX buy 3 get 1 free deal IP: Logged
Message: Duplicate post from "Group Buy" section.
Hey Everyone,
For those of you who like Rancho shocks, I just found out that they are on sale this month. Buy 3 and get 1 free. I'm getting mine at 4-wheel-Parts but you can pick them up at a lot of places. Go to the rancho web site and click the "location" button. www.gorancho.com. Not every place that sells rancho shocks is offering this deal, so call ahead. Sears is not offering this special, I already called.
Mine will be put on next Wed so I'll let you all know how they ride. Cost was $49 each. With installation and alignment total cost $334.00. My truck has 76k miles on it with the orginal shocks so anytype of shock is going to be better than what I got now.

Message: I just noticed that my front shocks were leaking and was looking into shocks. I was gonna try the Bilsteins but I can't find them locally and don't want to wait for them so I happened on the Rancho's as another possibility and I found this out just before you posted. I am getting the Rancho's at 4 wheel parts and gonna go put them on this afternoon. Good excuse to take the rest of the day off. Plus we are going to cruise some trails tomorrow.

Message: ok..now you guys got me second guessing.
Other than the adjustiblity feature of the RS9000 aren't the RSX shocks pretty much the same? I rarely go off roading since I recently moved so I don't need that function.
Any further thoughts why the RSX are better or worse over the RS9000 I'm taking anyone's opinion into consideration until next wednesday :)
thanks again all,

Message: 9000's in my experience seem like a nicer ride. Since I've tried them both in my lifted, exceptionally stiff, spine shattering, wrangler, the 9000's seem to be giving me a few more years before full paralysis.

Message: Well I sure had every force that could oppose me oppose me yesterday with these shocks.
I called the wheel part store and confirmed they had what I needed. Went there and they did not. But they had the ones I needed at the other store still on my way home so no big deal.
I got home with all of this stuff. Ended up spending over $350.00. Started to change the shocks, a job I have never attempted before, and found that the shocks were 1.5" shorter than the ones I had taken off. Well You know what happened after that. Store closes in 30 minutes and it'll take me that long to get there. The wife is gone and the guy at the store said he found some that would work. I called a co-worker who was just getting ready to leave he waent and picked them up and brought them to me. Still wrong. NOW WHAT!?
I have all weekend to decide what to do. I may just return them and go with the Bilsteins. I am going out today on some mountain roads and the new shocks would have been nice.
But I did atleast get the tune up done last night and the oil changed.
Also found another great use for the Hanson bumper on doing tune ups. Kneel on it and everything is right infront of you and easy to get to.
Buy 3 and get the 4th free I just noticed on the receipt I paid for all 4. Geez! maybe I should have spent some money on my wife for mothers day!

Message: Whoo..hooo.. I'm going to get my new RSX shocks put on this afternoon.
My 3 inch body lift should be in the mail box today as well, so I'll be putting that on this weekend.
I also, just saw an add that 4-wheel parts has American Eagle 589 rims on sale 4 for $299. I'm glad I waited to buy them. I'm going to get the 15x10 rims. So I guess I'll pick those up rather than paying discount tires $110 each. The only problem is I have the Pro Comp all terrains tires 32x11.50x15 and I'm not sure if my tires will fit on the 15x10 rim. Anyone have an opinion ???

Message: I finally got the right ones for the front yesterday. I had them installed in about an hour. The last one I did was the Right Rear, the toughest one, took awhile. I like how they put that bolt head right where you can't get to it real easy. So I reversed it when I installed the new one.
The ride is much better now! I also rotated in my other mudders, 31's, so I do not run down the 33's before the winter comes.
