Message: Anyone running Bilsteins? My dad has them on his S-10 and I like them better than what are on my 01 4.7L 4x4. How do you like them? Thanks.

Message: I like mine. Firmer than stock, but not harsh. But I'm itching to try some Ranch RS 9000's with the in cab adjuster.

Message: Bilstein are better then Rancho for most driveing condutions. Rancho's have never been used as OEM. Bilsteins are still being used by some manufactures. The only reason that some companys quite useing them is due to cost. They usualy run specials 4 shocks for $49.00 each if you buy 4 at a time. They also have the best warranty in the business. P.S. You can buy these from Autozone.

Message: Joey, Been offline for a bit . . .
Yup, I got 'em at Autozone . . . pricey, but good.
I've thrashed the piss outta my truck for 15K miles now, LUV my Bilsteins !
But, if you really want to buy my stock ones . . .
$60 + shipping . . . they are made by a Brazilian
company, Cofab.
E-mail me if you are interested.

I've looked at many online dealers and called my local Autozone, and no one seems to have the Bilstein's for 2001 CC. Do you know if the 2000's fit? Thanks.

Message: I also was informed that the "standard" shocks would not fit the QC 4x4 . . . so I called Bilstein Customer support.
They had me measure my stock shocks in the compressed and extended positions, and I was able to verify that
the "standard" (2000) shocks would fit.
I believe the part numbers are BE5-2617 and 2618 (I'll verify this tonight)

Message: Thanks Ole. I called Bilstein also this morning and got the part numbers, then stopped by my local AutoZone to see if they can order them, and he said they could not. So now I'm looking for somewhere else to order. Any good online dealers? Thanks.

I hate to add to the "bad perceptions", but most
"small" autozone stores don't know that they can
order them (the small store in Long Beach also told me that they couldn't order them ! ). I got myne at a LARGE autozone store in Lakewood, Ca.
Call Hotchkis (or look em up on the web) I bet they still sell the BE5-2617 and BE5-2618 (they
changed their part numbers though). The Hotchkis
price was the same as what I payed at Autozone.
One note: The supplied upper grommets for the front shocks don't fit well.
I used the original upper grommets (which have a slightly larger inside diameter
than those supplied with the shocks, but they still work fine).
I have 15K miles on myne, probably the best money I've spent on my truck so far . . .

Message: I found the shocks I needed from weathertech.com for $64.95 each. Is this an appropriate price? I called about 12 AutoZones in Sacramento and none of them can order them. Thanks.
