Message: I have a 2000 QC 4x4 with a stock suspension (torsion bars are cranked up)and I installed the Rancho RS900's. I have had them for about 8 months and in that time I have sheared off both of the front shocks lower bolts. I spoke with Rancho about it and they said it's probably because the change in torsion bars is causing the shock to max out.
Anybody else having any trouble with this?
I also took this opportunity to ask about the 2000+ Dakota lift. I was told that they are getting close and that we should expect it out by mid summer. While you never can tell, I had been talking to this guy for quite a while and he seemed genuine on this approximate release. Since I have been told "just a couple of more months" for the past year,(via E-mail) Im not holding my breath. Just thought I'd pass this on.
If anyone has any pictures of a 97-99 Dakota with the Rancho lift, Id love to see them.

Message: Hehehe... they should change there story to ... "Yea.. we'll have it out sometime" because all of us know that by mid summer ... they won't have it released.. Unless.... They never said what year.

Message: I went to Rancho's site to check out the installation instructions from the previous lift. Looks like there's a bit of cutting/grinding/hole punching. Still good to see what you'll be up against...

Message: Steve-
Did you install the Rancho kit yourself? If so, how much cutting or welding is involved and was it hard to do? How is the quality of the parts?
I am going to do the Rancho or the Tuff Country when I get back from Austria this summer and am researching both kits.

Message: I had the same problem. I changed the bushing that came with the Rancho and made a new steel sleeve that fits inside the bushing. I made the new ones longer than the stock ones that came with the RS9000s. I have had no further problems breaking the bolts.
A stock Dakota is great place to start

Message: Do any of you ever get brochures for Dodge trucks sent to you by Dodge? I remember I got one in 2000 when the QC's came out and they had a whole lineup of QC's w/ 4" lifts and 33's. That camouflage one in that link was one of them. I wonder if we could order this lift from a dealer?

Message: You're first name Smokin'???? Just kiddin..couldn't resist. The 2000+ Dak lift has been on the wish list of many for a long, long time. I'm thinking if it was available from Dodge, there'd be a few thousand of them around. Are you jerkin our chains and I've just had a few too many barley pops to notice????

Message: Go to my website.. That's the ONLY 4.5" lift that's actually working. Unless someone did a solid axle swap no one else has a lifted truck at this time.

Message: I'm dead serious. The one he's talking about above is the EXACT same picture that was in the brochure. There were other ones too, with other themes. I don't know if Dodge shelved the idea, but I know what I saw.
