I am planning to give my truck a 3" Body Lift (hopefully soon). I want to stick with the stock rims however (16"). What size tires can I fit (some trimming is OK but I would like to keep my flares).

305/70-R16s fit with little or no trimming. I have ProComp XTerrains in that size w/ the 3" body lift.

bj , How much do you think the 315s would rub? Only asking because I saw a set over the weekend at the truck show in Daytona at the 4 Wheel Parts booth and they looked sooo damn good! Thanks

315x70x16 are 35" tires..
305x70x16 are 33" tires..
the 315's would rub BAD!

That`s what I thought , but they didn`t LOOK that big. Should have brought a tape measure with me. I`ll bet they`d fit with ...say...a 4.5in susp. lift though..ah I`ll stick with the 305s!

bjlindsey, did you have to trim at all for those 305/65 x-terrains? I did my 3" lift over the weekend and am looking for tires for my '01 quad. I haven't cranked up the torsion bars yet, and don't want to cut or trim to fit. Also what size wheels are you running, I'll be using the stock 8's.

No trimming yet using the stock 16x8 wheels, and haven't touched the torsion bars. I've launched over some speed humps and some railroad tracks with no known rubbing yet. The 305s DO rub on the frame a bit in a full lock turn, but that doesn't hurt anything. The 305s measure out to be a little under 33 inches tall and only about 12 inches wide, which seems to help w/ the rubbing problem as opposed to real 33x12.50s. You might want to try this with your front bumper to make a little more room. I haven't had time to try it yet, but it should work.

LoL Scott.. eventually if this lift does get finished.. I'm going to try the 315's but I doubt they will fit.

me also,iam looking now for a good tire deal,i have te 3 inch body lift,16-8 rims, now the stock tires look to small,i will be looking for 305/70-16s, good day

WHOO HOO!! a 2.25" suspension lift.. HA! I'm the one and only to have that.
OH btw.. u hear that Truckin-Suspension isn't sending out any of the Dakota lifts because they have to redesign the parts.
... What have I been saying this whole time? BAH!!
Reminds me of the apt complex down here that didn't fix the wirering in the swimming pool and then killed the next kid that jumped in.

I have a '02 dakota without a lift. What is the largest tire size i can put on with little to no rubbing. I was looking at the 31" bfgoodrich all-terrains, but if i could put a 32" on I'd try that out.

Got a '99 Dakota Sport excab 4x4 5.2 auto ,I have 31x10.5x15 on now-no issues.Doing the 3" body lift then going for 33x12.5x15 Maxxis Bighorn radials,.

I have a 94 Dakota 4x2 SLT Club Cab with a 318cci
engine. I am planning on putting a 2 inch rough
country suspension lift on it. Will 33x12.5R15 fit
under it on the stock rims? What's the largest tire
that will fit?

33x12.5R15s will fit on your stock rims...but they will not fit on your 2WD rig. Largest tire you would get on there (with the 2" lift) would be 30x9.5s...'Maybe' a 31x10.5.
