Subject: Upper Control Arms 2000 CC? IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys,
Does anyone out there with a 2wd that has bought the fabtech lift have their old upper control arms that would be willing to measure for me? If they are close to the ones on my 4x4 I may buy them. My idea is to buy the fabtech lift just to get the stronger arms on my truck.
Thanks.

Message: The 4wd and 2wd a-arms are very different. We were already looking into it but the design is too different. Truckin Suspension told Knobby they would look into making some...............................................................uh .......oh well.......back to the drawing board.

Message: Thanks 4wDakota
I have "Heard" that too, but I would like to measure them to see what the difference are. I mean if I had to cut and weld a tad it would still be worth it.
Thanks again,

Message: Truckin Already makes those lifted control arms for our Daks. I just looked on their web site $299 bucks. They look pretty similiar to the Fab Tech ones if you ask me. Maybe they are, just painted different color and different logo??????

Message: No no.. you don't understand 99Dak5.24x4 .. they might SAY they make um... But is the 9.5" Dakota lift on there website...... has anyone ever had that installed? nope.. did they sell me the 4.5" lift before they even stamped out there first copy?
Upper Control Arms take MONTHS of development even from a company that knows what they are doing.. Truckin-Suspension I doubt could get it working with in a year.
Don't order from them.

Message: Hey Knobby,
So what you saying is that you didn't receive those new control arms in your lift kit and they don't make them yet? That is just wrong !!!!
This just all sucks...period.. once I win the lottery I'm going buy a Hum V and be done with it.

Message: ahhh.. how cute... ;-) lol sorry..
I've been curious about the 4x2 vs. the 4x4 upper control arms.
No Truckin-Suspension didn't have new Upper Control Arms the only other thing I wish they had was longer brake lines. If they added those 2 things to the kit would be great.

Message: Ok guys .. I looked @ the difference between the 4x2 and the 4x4 upper control arms.. They are TOTALLY differen't. I don't know how the fab techs would be because they are going to be differen't from the stockers 4x2. The stock 4x2's are solid there is no hole then like where the 4x4's have the shock going threw. Anyway the Fab tech's might be differen't but I'm not sure 4wheelparts didn't have that kit instock so that I could look @ it.
