Message: just raises the front end. the frontend on a 4x4 has torsion bars instead of coils. you can twist the bars more to get a little more height but too much will change the alignment, weaking the bars and sometimes provide a harsher ride.

Message: I am in the process of having my torsion cranked up. I had the Hanson bumper put on and it was recommended.
Although the shop only raised it 1" total, when I asked them to Level and raised the front 1" above level, I still have atleast 1 more inch I can go.
I also have managed to put on 33"x12.5x15 Grabber Mudders on with a little handy work with NO RUBBING (only checked by applying force into Curbs up and down with the wheels at different turn angles).
Once the Shop gets the job done right it will look Awesome!
I am also assuming that you are referring to a '00 or newer.
I am also now wondering if I want to Lift it.
I still have to do the real off road testing but we are convinced that this should work for me.
Hit 'em straight!

Message: NO LIFT!!! It has the tires that are on that show truck that is yellow that was posted earlier by someone.
Has anyone heard of California Concepts? Of course those of you in CA have. But I think they are only in Redwood city CA. Anyway after I did all of the cutting I went to my buddies house to show him. We went pounding some curbs to make it rub but could not. I do have a few minor things left to do but I am roaming town with no problems.
Anyway we were looking at his CA Concept Durango, 00 4X4 32's I think 12.5 torsion bars cranked, and the wheel wells were cut exactly as I cut them. I am trying to get some photo's to RESQready but his mail is full.
I still have to have my torsion bars cranked the rest of the way, since they shop did not do as I asked on Friday, but this will only ensure that I get no rubbing. I still have to go off road with it but we put some good force on it already.
I will e-mail yu the photo's Knobby! I have been having DSL trouble today so we will see what happens.
Do I need to make any adjustment to anything running the larger tires? I am only gonna run them til I get some AT's. Any suggestions?

Message: Free email, what can you do?? Anyway, check YOUR email. I sent you links to my other free account and my work email (there should be no problem sending here).
So you're roaming around town. I'll bet you're getting some strange looks with 33" muds in front and 31" stock tires in back! I'll get you the others on Monday.

Message: I need to see some pictures to believe this. I may be wrong but there is no way in hell to run 33x12.50's with no lift. Unless you cut a foot off of the fender.

Message: I bought those tires off a '00 Quad Cab that was running only a torsion bar crank and no trimming! As I was told (and passed the warning on to FXF), 33's on the street should be no problem -- off road would be a whole different story. We'll see, he has a new front bumper, cut out part of that black plastic wheel well liner, and cranked the T-bars. Can't wait to see pics.

Message: OK RESQReady I sent them. Just so you know I did put my 31" mudders on the back so it doesn't look to funny. It actually sits right how I want it to. But you know, I still have a little more torsion cranking to do and still need the back tires. Can't beat the Price on them tires. I'll make them work if I have to but it seems I have done it.
See you tomorrow Bud!
Post the pictures on your site so the others can see them.

Message: Looks good. It might have rubbed on the front bumper and lower fascia but that could also be solved with trimming. I've been told by another quadcab owner that a 1" torsion bar cranking would clear 33x12.50's I'm glad to see it proved again. The thing to realize is stock rims keep the wheel from swinging into the fender and rubbing.

Message: There is obviously some big differences between the 99 below and 00 and up trucks. Because I have pro comp all terrains 32x12.50 on stock 15x8 rims amd with stock suspension. My tires rub on the inner frame of the truck it self when turning sharp left and right not the wheel wells themselves. 1 inch cranking wouldn't help at all in my case from looking at where it's rubbing. I'll take a pic later today and post it tomorrow.

I really like the concept of the Dakarta. The only pictures i have seen were really blurry. Are there any clearer pics and more stats on the truck?
