Subject: Canadian Sites? IP: Logged
Message: Hi there, I was wondering if any of you know of any Canadian lift sites for parts. Even better if there were some sites in Ontario. I was wanting to put a 4" lift on my truck. I have been searching through the boards, and can't find anyone listing price/ride quality in some of these kits. would like your feedback on good or bad experiences with your lifts! thanks from the great white north! Can't wait for the ground to thaw so the mud can fly!!!!!

Message: Well your best bet for getting lift parts is probably through canadian tire. You can look around in preformance shops too might get lucky.
Since you two are from ontario go to
http://www.swordsite.com
it is a forum based in southern ontario

Message: hey fellow canadians livin in alberta needed ne to lift my truck, a 1990 gen 1 dak. i went with cranking up torsion bars in front to give 2" and added 4" blocks in rear then a set of 31x10.5 tires......and i like it, still rides well as far as im concerned with the cranked torsion bars too.
the lift in total cost me less than 100 bucks, but i need to get longer shocks soon mine are factory and quite stroked out from the extra 4" in hight

Message: They wouldn't let me use my name again, so I'm now called oville mike. From orangeville that is. I wouldn't trust canadian tire to install anything I buy. I wouldn't even trust them checking my tire pressure. They are good for parts, but I need an installer for my 6" lift, and a place to buy it from. keep me posted if anyonw finds a 4x4 shop in southern Ontario that has experience with dakotas.

Message: Actually if you have a GenII truck, they make all sorts of lifts. I've found 6". GenII would be 99 and previous. GenIII have problems finding lifts, like myself cause of the rack and pinion.

Gen 3 97-current
Hey oville mike, any good shop should be able to do it. As for specific shops I dont know of any cause all the guys I know that have done lifts have done it themselves.
And FYI I am located near Owen Sound.... one more thing go check out www.swordsite.com it is a bunch of people from sounthern ontario we get together every once and a while and sit for coffee and talk about our trucks and different mods etc... really relaxed thing nothing formal at all
