If you have a pre 2000 dakota and want to help us develop a kit for it in the Phoenix area post here or email me. We are looking for a truck to prototype and test. You keep the final kit.

I got a '98 5.2L Xtended Cab with the Rancho 3" suspension Lift. I am running the Eagle 589's rims (15x8) with 33x12.50 sidewinder tires. Before the lift I ran Stock rims with the same size tires and had a heck of a lot less rubbing then I do now. Didnt make much sence to me either but its just that the offset of the 589's was so deep that it was tearring the Sh@t outa my fenders. I did some pretty hefty trimming with my dremmel on the plastic and that pretty much seems to have fixed it. I guess the only thing to do now is to put in a body lift...sorry for the long reply

p.s. It does look pretty FU@!en sweet though and I do get a LOT of complements

I work for the company that worked with knobbyman to make a completely new 4" lift kit for his dakota. We did 6 weeks of custom fabrication for his truck and fulfilled our committment to him. We arent out to kill all Daks. We are out to do whatever anyone who wants a lifted truck out there wants. Time and patience pay off when you are asking for something that never existed before.

Uh, no you havn't! Custom fabricated? Then why do you say on your website that it's a 4.5 lift ready to go? I havn't read anywhere, on your site or in the magazines, where you say that parts will have to be fabricated and it may take some fitting to get it right! Why are you in every magazine lying to consumers? Yes you are lying! Do you have proof of a complete lift on a truck right now at this very moment with absolutely no alignment problems or anything? You still havn't made things right with Knobby! We all here were ready to jump on this lift but you not only have dropped the ball but you kicked the damn thing back to your competitors cause that's who we are gonna wait on now.

No, no snappy retort.

No where in any ad will you see the phrase "ready to go."

Our 4.5" Dakota kit has never been sold as "ready to go." We have a design and interested customers are told the status of the design and given a choice of buying the kit or not. Knobby had 6 weeks of discussion with us before deciding to buy the FIRST 4.5" kit. He was made aware that there will be issues. We worked with him to change parts as those issues came up. We are still here if more issues come up.

We currently have 5 different kits in the development stages and more than 20 in full production. Some people are just very anxious for the new kits. We will agree to sell the kits to anxious customers on the condition they are aware that the kits are not fully develped. It is their choice. We then work with those customers to correct issues.

Thanks for maintaining so much interest and I will come back to post pics of the 4 kits being installed in the next couple weeks.

Ian, just wondering... is that how the other companies work, by using customers trucks that are thousands of miles away to fully design and build there products? It would seem to me (and probably everyone else concerned) that a reputable company , that is as large as yours is made out to be , would do those major issues closer to home , on your own vehicles , and then offer the kits to the public.I`m not trying to slam you personaly but the whole idea of being the guinnea pig with no gain for being first doesn`t sound so good.Just a quick question... If Knobbys was the first kit and he knew that , and I believe he did, why then didn`t he get something back in return for helping your co. And please don`t tell me he got a FREE INSTALL.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! Thats what I say! Maybe your ads don't say ready to go, but they also don't say, "Come try out our new experimental lifts for new dakotas, it may take a while but we will try and fix it. We will also supply you with the most unexperienced assinine installers that we can find that just love to go sawzall crazy on your new rig! If we can't fix it then you can spend additional money to have someone else to try and fabricate the parts to make it work. Enjoy our products!" You can't tell me that you have lived up to your end of the deal with knobby! How do you figure you have? THE PARTS DON"T WORK! The installer cut things off of his truck that were not suppose to be cut off and you say Knobby was in the wrong to get mad. Who are you?! Knobby is the one paying for that truck not you! Do you plan on reimbursing him for finishing the lift? As far as interested customers being told about the truth of how the lifts are going, thats also a crock. Did you think we wouldn't call and ask about them? I was told that there were some glitches at first but now the lifts are ready to go! You companies think you can treat the public however you see fit and no one is suppose to say anything and just go along with it. I've said it before and I'll say it again, be thankfull this is Knobby's truck on jackstands and not mine!

Well Truckin-Suspension held one of there words.. They faxed the new installers the instructions.. Problem is they don't make any sence.

Mikes thinks they can finish the lift but it needs structial support. They said "I wouldn't even drive this thing down the freeway" But.. if they think by beefing it up it can be used as a 4x4 should be. Eh.. what's another week?

Quadman.. lets see how this all pans out before we go around shooting everyone.. BTW I'm going to the range this Saturday where do you live again?
