Message: I have ordered Hansons bumper and was wondering, if anyone who has bought one has tested the strength? I asked Wayne if he has had it tested or rated, he said know one has complained yet and it was built for strength. I can tell that it is built with strength and durability. Just curious though if someone has put a large load on it with the winch.
Thanks for your input!

Message: hanks For the info. I searched for another post I saw a local Guy in San Jose CA Got one back in Dec I think.
The Bumper is great.
I am having problems deciding what color to make it. Everyone has black so I am thinking to match the lower portion of the 2 tone (Sandalwood) to the Bumper.

Message: Yea, I got one on the front of my Dak, and LOVE IT. As far as toughness, its rock solid. It has actually been in a rearend wreck,(my fault :*( )and been snatched on like no tomorrow. I Did have to weld it on as the bolt on mounts would shift in the adjustment slots. Since we welded it, hasnt moved an inch. At one point I was winching and had one truck snatching on the passenger side clevis, and a second truck snatching on the driver side clevis. We wound up breaking 2 straps, but the bumper was unscathed.

Message: ForeXFour, was that me??? I forget. I assume you're the same ForeXFour that sold me skid plates last year (I had just moved from SJ to Mountain View)
Anyway, I bought a Hanson bumper last December (although it's mounted to the garage floor right now). After reading Hero's comments, I decided to fab up new brackets to replace the upper factory bumper mounts, which the Hanson bumper mounts on -- they seem to be the weak link. With so little time, I just haven't finished the project. When I do, I'll powdercoat it black and get it mounted up.
Did you get YOUR bumper yet?

Message: Hero,
Right on Dude!!! I checked out the pictures you had on your site.
So you know I never was doubting the strength of Hansons bumper if anyone took it that way.
RESQready,
Yeah man I am the one I remember you bud!!! So you are the one who got the Hanson Bumper.
I am still waiting for mine I just dropped of all of the add ones Last Friday. HS9500i Warn Winch, the stock fog lights and liscense plate holder. He hoped to have it to Hy-tech powder on Monday or Tuesday. They will have it for I hope less than a week. Then Wayne will mount it up.
Were you good with the work he did and the time frame?
What is the mounting problem you guys found? I would like to go over that with Wayne while he is mounting it. He is always looking to improve.
We should hook up with J C Brandon and my buddy sometime.
I'll be going to Winch training with my buddy as soon as I get the bumper.
Thanks to both of you for your input and info.
Be Safe!

Message: I'm glad someone found Hanson bumpers before I did. Now I have to ask a few questions of you guys.
Is the bumper as sweet as it sounds?
Does it install easily? How much time?
How long did it take to get the bumper from Hanson from the time you ordered it?
Does the bumper suround and stabalize all of the plastic crap under the front end of the truck that tries to fall off if you rip the factory bumper off?
I need to know because I need a new bumper. I'm not a serious off roader, but I hate plastic $h!t, and if I ripped it off once, I can do it again. For the money, I'd just assume cure the problem. Is this bumper the answer to my prayers? Thanks for any info.
Oh yea, does the grill/light guard get in the way of raising the hood? It looks like a tight fit..

Message: RESQready installed his himself. He had to wrestle with a little since it weighs about 195lbs. But he got it done in a few hours including adjusting it to sit right. If you look at my site photos you can see where it mounts to the frame.
We both go out off roading allot and I have personally taken some hard hits in the front on some sand dunes. It holds up Awesome. Plus the hooking options we now have on the front end.
I think the photo's show how nice they look. I think they add a sweeter look to the front. It protects down to the lower radiator crossmember.
If you have not seen my site you can see more photo's.
It does not interfer with the Hood. If you get the winch it is a little tight but the first pull fixed that and it has not moved since. It just need to settle in.
The bumper is worth it for the looks and protection. People regret cutting you offwhen they see what is about to hit them.
Wayne will quote you the time frame to get it done. Mine took 3 weeks from start to install. Wayne does not paint them for shipping purpose. Plus you would rather have it done locally so you make sure it is the right color and done right. The powder coating is about $250 additional, more if you choose a custom type powder coat that requires more prep and protection.
Hope that answered all you questions.

Message: I'll let Fourxfore answer the exact questions but just FYI I have NEVER heard a bad thing about these bumpers or the company. I've spoken with the owner a few times and he is really into making these exactally how you want them. From what I understood the last time I talked with him he was fairly backed up but working as fast as he could. Give him a call and he could give you exactally how long it would take.

Message: I did not put it on myself since I am only 30 minutes from Waynes place. Cost, well add up what you want on his site per the prices there, then add atleast $250.00 for the powder coating, and then some shipping cost and lastly the cost for the winch if you are getting one. Once you get you jaw back in your mouth you will have the answer! Quality is not cheap. If you want cheap go on down the road per Wayne! I know the loads we have put on this bumper and my truck for that matter. Yeah I was nervous as we pulled a full size Suburban out of the Dunes and I was the pivot guy whoes truck was yanked off the ground and basically being held with the front D ring and the rear D ring with full pull power yanked on the front bumper for momentum.
WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Unless you are for show.
