Message: tj: like everyone else on this board, i drive a dakota. lol
i have a dark green 98 dak, with a extended cab,V6,5
speed, with a 3" rancho suspension lift. i also have a
canopy on my truck. i have 30" hankook T24's
(awesome tires, too bad they don't make them
anymore). looking to get some 32's bfg's mt in the fall.
i don't do a whole lot of off roading, just for the sake of
off roading, but i usually end up wheelin quite a bit
during hunting season, looking for that "perfect" spot. if
you want some good wheelin, go to Cadomin, just
south of Hinton. really remote and awesome country!!
apart from that, just pick a oilfield road, any road,
especially if it's wet and let her rip!!! i live on the north
west side of town, and work around 156st. and 116ave.

Message: tj: who is doing your straight axel for you? if you don't
mind me asking. how much will it cost, and what axel
are you using? do you have an easier route to your
photos? after 6 hours of typing in that address, i could't
find it!!!

the bumper still is not done. i going to put box liner on it most likly line X. i'm doing the solid axle swap my self. using a dana 44 and a ford 9". got them regeared to 4:11. also ordered a spring pack for the rear from Alcan Spring. as for the cost not to sure right now. 1000 for all the axle radial arms etc. 1000 to have the axle regeared. 700 for the springs. tires & rims you can spend as much as little as you want here than odds and ends once i'm done i hope to make a wed site.

Message: Dwayne; where did you buy your tires from, and did you
get a good deal. the guys at Tires Plus told me $212
per tire for bfg muds (32"). how do they work in the
snow? thread wear? i used to to wheel out by
cloverbar, but they closed it off. you still can out behind
the landfill, but it's hard to find. there was a old
motocross track there that was lots of fun to wheel in.
mud galore! if you're willing to drop a few bucks, try
Alberta Safairi. owned by the guy who owns Tires Plus.
lots there from wild to mild. hope that helped!!

Message: Thanks Bowhunter, I go to cloverbar every now and then aswell, it is fun back there. I got my tires through a buddy of mine, who got them from remington tires( it is a huge warehouse on 17st) $177 per tire. I find that they wear pretty good, work awesome in the mud, pretty good in the snow. Thanks for the suggestions, hopefully someone will find somewhere else to go play in the mud soon.

Message: Bowhunter, I have the 4.7 L. When I got it, it had 31" Goodyears (factory tires) on it. Worst tires ever. I believe I have 3.23 gears in it. I also have a lowrider tonneau cover on it, a push bar in the front and side steps. I haven't really done anything to the engine but a jet chip stage 1, and k&n. Didn't notice much difference with both of those. It is in the shop right now, I think I blew a lifter, or spun a bearing. hopefully will have it back before the weekend. If you want to see it, I might have it this weekend at jumbo car wash in sherwood park. After 4 on sat, 4 on sun, or 5 on mon.
