i've been coming to this site for a week or so and it seems like everyone has 98 up dakota's.Is this just for yuppie's are for true dakota fan's that has owned there dakota's for more than a couple of year's.I considered trading up to a new model but decided my 93 v8 4by4 ext cab that has been payed off since 97 still looks and drive's as good as any new one.i guess i could buy one and leave in the driveway while i go on the trails,because i would be scared to get it dirty.I hate when you go to buy a add on's and all you see is for 97 up models.I've learned to modify add on's that were meant for the new model's.this isn't meant as a -sshole remark,but just a thought.

I too have a 93 v8 4x4 and it will be paid off next month. I plan on keeping it and using it for a daily driver and parts mule for my new old car I am gonna get.

i've got a 92 v8 4x4 and love it it's a daily driver and i'm doing a soild axle swap on it myself. you know there is not much out there for ower truck but that's good in a round avout way. this way we have to fab everything for ower truck our selves. this way your sure to have a one of a kind. right now i have a custom made cap with no side windows and a roof rack, tubuler bumper for the rear that rapes around the sides and a 3'body lift that i made. i just finished the front which is home to 8,000 pound whinch. it also has a cage on it that rapes up on over the hood and around the sides. it hinges out to get to the engin. looks great but will look bettter with the soil axle.

I own A 95 2x4 V8 that is paid off and I plan on keeping it until I drive it into the ground.
Did the aftermarket world fall asleep during those GENI & II years ??? I am having A hard time finding aftermarket goodies to go on my truck.

He is a loaded White and Silver two tone 95' ext cab, V-8 w/ auto, 3.55 gears w/ limited slip. So far I have installed an Extang bed cover, Window tint, Eagle Alloys, 31x10.5 Kelly Safaris, Tow hooks, 2" body lift, and 100w offroad lights on my own fabricated Pre-runner bars with skid plate in the front. I will be ordering my suspension lift from Desert Rat (They are on sale)after I close on a house next tues.
You are right in the fact they are over looked by the after market. Unfortunately, it is all about sales. I have owned Dodges since 1979, and aftermarket parts have always been hard to come by. Up until Dodge went to the new (1994 Ram) body style, their truck sales didn't warrant the aftermarket guys getting much into production on Mopars. Why make a kit for a rig that you might sell a thousand when you can make a kit for a different rig and sell 10 thousand! (ie. difference between a Gen II and a Ranger) It's all about economics fellas (and fellinas) They teach it in school.

I'm just as broke as the next guy, so I DO care about my 2002 CC 4x4. but I took it in the trails/woods, 3 weeks after I bought it, and with just over 1,000 miles on it. Here's some pics.

Glad to see there are other “N” Body fans out there. “88” 4x4 Sport here. 4” Trailmaster suspension lift, 3” Body Lift, cranked torsion bars and add-a-leafs, 33x14.50 Mickey Thompson Baja Claws on 15x10 Champion Beadlock Rims. Currently awaiting a V8 transplant.

Walt awsome truck, awsome sight. i had an 89 black sport 4x4 3.9 5spd, 3inch body lift, add a leaf, push bar brush gaurd, posi, engine bored 30 over,headers for a short time, 31 10.50 on chrome 15x8 directional. ya know the story about getting married and "dont let the wife drive your truck" comments. well it rolled.the day after the odometer rolled a 100k. i hated giving it up. i had to drive it out of the woods to the tow truck. at least she came out with only a scratched finger. since then and with the insurance money i bought 2 more. 88 4cyl due to get the 318 that sitting in the bed right now installed. the other is a 93 c.c. 3.9 bored 20 over, rebuilt trans w/shift kit, rebuilt t/case. 3inch body, add a leaf w/97 dakota leafs, 2000lb v8 torsion bars. 32 11.50 15s on eagle 589s, snow plow, moon visor, drop bumper, class 3 hitch, every now and then a fiberglass cap. soon to get performance computer, accel coil and wires, posi. 145,000 miles. hope this wasnt to long.

i have stated this many times. my best friend had a 95 5.2 4x4 sport until it was hit by a 18 wheeler!that truck saved his life!after driving that truck many times i knew i wanted one!after saving money to by a house i saved up for a dakota and in 99 i bought a 98!

ive got a 91' dodge dakota 239 c.i. 4x4 and it now has 200,236 miles on it . i expect it to go atleast another 100,000. she still goes through the trails better than my al of my friends vehicles(a 89' jeep wrangler with a 350 chevy engine, a 96' ford f250, an89' chevy silverado 1500, and a couple suzuki side kicks) my truck even beats em' all through the mud.but most of all it beats my friends brand new 99' dodge dakota 4x4 318 v8 anywhere it goes except in a race.

black rockcrawler wheels,32x11.50x15 BFG A/T ko's.

I don't have an aftermarket bumper on the rear,but I hated the factory one (big,ugly,square.looks like its four inches too wide) So, I managed to install a gen3 rear bumper,and amazingly,it looks like it belongs there!!

Hey. I got a 96 cc, 2x4. Its got a 3.9 V6, and a 2 inch suspension lift from Rough Country. Im running 30x9.5 inch BF Goodrich ALl Terrains. pics at- http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/markboy252/lst?.dir=/Dakota+Pics
Im over on the east coast and its snowed a whole lot, so at the airport I pulled out 15 cars in 2 feet of snow. I love my dakota.

Hey Lilblackdak. I think we've already talked but i got the 2 inch Rough Country Lift. Its small but it looks much better than stock. You can run 30's.
In my opinoin nothing looks more wimpy than a gen II 2WD stock. People would just walk away cuz its 2wd, But now no-one even asks. It looks retty sweet. Go for it man.
