Message: Dude, you are a brave soul. I can see doing a 2 or 3in lifts but a 10in lift. man, thats alot of change to a truck. Good luck with it. I guess I am a puss; Id take it to a shop and pay the $ to get it done. Have a good One. Put up some picts of the installiation for future Dakers doing this lift.
Joe E.
Maybe someday i will have a new Dak, not a 1990, and can do that lift.

Message: I agree that is definitely a body lift on that Durango. Note how you can see the silhouette of the frame rail under the truck. Also, you can see the silhouette of the driver’s side torsion bar and I believe the bar is at the wrong angle to have a suspension lift. A 10” suspension lift would require them to drop the rear of the torsion bar down to maintain proper angle for it to slip into the lower control arm. In other photos of a Dakota with the 10” kit, people on this board commented on how they didn’t like how exposed the torsion bars were. On this Durango, you should be able to see the drop bracket on the rear of the torsion bar and you don’t. I don’t believe it has a suspension lift at all. It looks more like cranked torsion bars for you’ll notice that the rear is definitely sitting lower than the front of the truck. I also question if those are really 36” tires. If they’re mounted on 16” rims, they might be 35” on the high side but they don’t look any larger than the tires on the blue Ram lower on the Rocky Mountain page (click on the image of the Durango above to see). That Ram has 315/75R16 tires on it, which converts to a 34.6 if you do the math. If those are 15” rims, there is no way those are 36” tires.

Message: WHATS UP GUYS, I JUST GOT DONE INTALLING THE WHIPLASH 10" LIFT KIT.I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU
KNOW WHAT I THOUGHT ABAUT THIS LIFT KIT. WELL I HAD A HARD TIME INSTALLING EVERY PIECE. NONE OF THE BRACKETS BOLTED UP THE WAY THEY SHOULD. I HAD TO SLOT ALMOST EVERY HOLE TO MAKE THE PIECES FIT. THE THING THAT REALLY GOT ME, WAS THAT WHEN I GOT DONE WITH THE INSTALLATION. THE UPPER CONTROL ARM DROP BRACKETS, THEY FLEX A LOT, NOT HOLDING THE ALIGNMENT TO SPECS. AS SOON AS I GET A DIGITAL CAMERA, ILL SEND SOME PICS. IT LOOKS GREAT, BUT THE QUALITY IS VERY POOR.

Message: I am a professional I-car certified tech. I have installed over 25 lift kits in a variety of apps. First off the BS-er with the dog-sled durango has a 3" body lift blocks in the rear and torsions turned up (poor-mans lift) as for a 10" lift you must go out 1" for every 1" up for stability think for a sec. 10" up means each wheel must go out 5" need a bmpr sticker to say CAUTION VEHICLE MAY ROLL AT LOW SPEEDS !
