Subject: Another "newbie" wheel question IP: Logged
Message: Ok My 2001 came with the 16 inch rims and goodyear 265 70 16 tires. Hers my question...What tires can I put on there....I want the maximun height and will more than likely just go with the 3" lift.....with that being said what are the tires I want? these numbers all have me confused...I want someone to tell me 305/11/16 or something along those lines....here is my other question...will I have more options with 15 inch rims? i,e. should i throw my wheels on the wife's cherokeee and buy a new wheel and tire package......keeping in mind i want bad ass looking tires and want maximun height with maybe only a 3" boddy lift...have to keep truck practical...thanks and sorry to be a "typical" un informed poster

Message: There are a lot more options for 15" wheels and tires to fit 'em are a lot cheaper. I opted for new wheels. 33x12.50 is about as big as you'll go with 3" body lift.

Message: If your going to get new wheels & tires I'd switch to the 15" wheels. But.. If your goign to stay w/ the 16" wheels then the max size you could go w/ with the 3" body lift is 305/70R16 that's about the same as 33x12.5x16's
Oh you'll probably have to do some triming if you went with that size you might want to get something just abit smaller to avoid the trimming. Also make sure and get 8" wheels not 10" because then you WILL be rubbing.
Anything else?

Message: LT265/75R16/D or LT275/70R16/D
The 265 is taller but the 275 is alittle wider. I THINK both should fit. But I'd go somewhere like DiscountTire & see if they will test fit the tires for you. Also BFG are good tires everyone likes um. I've never ran them. I'm sticking w/ GoodYears but that's just me.

Message: BFG Mud-Terrain KM's look good and are practical but if you are looking for an aggressive tread and less cash out of pocket, check out Pro-Comp and Super Swamper. I think they both make tires in that size.
Just a thought.
