I have a 2000 4x4 and I am going to lift it the reason tough country pulled the lift for the 2000 dakota/durangos is unclear ( if you ask them there was a brake change from 99 to 00 which I have looked into and found false. If you want more info e-mail me at mwmayes@magiccablepc.com

The reason the Tuff Country lift is not available for 2000+ is because the Dakota/Durango was switched to rack and pinion steering. The also changed a fair amount of other bracketry under the front end. For these reasons, the TC kit will not work. The Rancho 3" kit won't work either, for that matter. There are currently no kits out there to lift a 2000+ and only 2 for 97-99. Your only option is a body lift. Personally, I would wait until someone makes a suspension lift.

They did have a kit for the 2000, they took it off the market for a brake problem according to tc techs. The only diff between old and new is the rack. If you wanted to all you would have to do is make a drop bracket for the rack and lenthen the steering sector

I remember somebody saying they were going to ask TC if they would sell them a kit if they had some better rotors (and a disc conversion in the rear) but I never heard whether they were able to get it.
Are you planning on just using a 97-99 kit and making drop brackets for the rack? If you are, I would love to hear how that goes. I haven't looked under a 2000+ so I'm not sure how complicated that would be. Good luck.

The reason TC took the lift off the market was due to all the complaints that it SUCKED. And yes, Rancho does make a 3" lift for your 2000 (2000-2003) 4x4. I have one on my 2000 QC.
