Message: Where the axles out of a donor vehicle or where they new units? If they were from a donor what type of vehicle were they from because I too want to do a solid axle conversion on my 97 Dak.

Message: The axles where custom built by Dynatrac. Measuring showed that most donor axles would not work. Either the short side was too short, or the long side too long. Using them would have ended up causing a binding situation at one point or another in articulation.
By the time you find a used donor, cut it down, clean it up, get the appropriate perches fabbed, regear it, and buy a locker - you're nearly at the cost of a new one. This way, I got a 12 month unlimited miles warranty!

Message: Michael, I wanted to contact you via email but your address doesn't seem to work. Do you have another address? I'm interested in purchasing the 5.5" TC lift you removed from your durango. I know it's not exactly the same for the rear lift, but I can get those parts if you're interested in selling everything else. I wish I could do what you've done, but I just don't have that kind of cash at the moment. Looks awesome!

Message: Thanks for the comments guys... Not sure why my email wouldn't be working. hm... durango@solidaxle.net should work. If not, try durango@alexander.net They both come to me.
brucemoose2: I wouldn't sell those TC 5.5 parts to you even if I still had them. That kit was junk. Heck I wouldn't even give them to my worst enemy. Steer way clear of those components. The build quality is miserable and it's gonna just end up tearing up your front end.
If you must stay IFS, do Rancho. If you need bigger than 32's, do a body lift as well.

Message: the durango is sweet, but i used a full sized dana 60 front end and have no binding and the truck flexes very well. it is a little higher than michaels truck and not as factory appearing. it looks as though a clean factory like look was high on his list. this might have contributed to the 4x4 shops concerns on clearance and binding. i, like michael, wanted to keep the center of gravity low, but not that much, which may be why i had less clearance problems. i too have heard bad things about that lift if 4 wheeled. hey guys, its awesome to see you modifying and wheeling those daks. mine is amazing off road and im sure, at least by some of the wheeling pics, michael will say the same.
