My cousin and I want to put CBs in our trucks, but both of us are at a loss as to where to mount them. I have a 2000 CC 5 spd, and he has a 2001 CC 5 spd. Any suggestions???

I installed a Cobra 75 WX ST. It's an all-in-the-handset radio. Hangs from the cigarette lighter when it's in the truck. When I take it out, the only thing in the cab is a short connector poking out from under the center console.

I've got a 2-foot Firestick antenna mounted in the middle of the roof on a spring and a quick release. Firestick has lots of great installation tips at:

Lots of guys who are CB hobbiests dis this radio bigtime. (Can't tweak it, not sensitive enough, yada, yada, yada.) But I'm very happy with it. I've never been unable to speak with anyone I wanted to reach. Often, when off road with several trucks with various radios, I've been the only one that could reach someone who had become separated from our group. And I really like the sano install.

cheers,

-J.

The Cobra 75 WX ST is exactly what I am looking for! Thanks JC and Hawkeye! I'm definitely not a huge enthusiast...just need it for the woods. Currently bidding on a new one at ebay. Just call me Lesley Jr. LOL!
Thanks again for all your help.

Mine is mounted in an overhead shelf that mounts above the sun visors. It's up out of the way, I can hear it easier than being near the carpet floorboard. and if someone looks into your truck, the first place they look is down by the radio.( they never look UP to see my CB radio.)I run A cobra classic ??? and A 10' steel whip off the back bumper.
