Message: It has something to do with the center of gravity or some say the airbags. I don't know. I see Z71's with 38's with both lifts all the time. Along with Dodges, Fords, Jeeps, and Toyotas.
I think its because the average person can't handle a tall truck and you get a lot of guys who only want the look and can't understand that the truck will not corner as well so they pose a liability.
I think 4wheelparts is a little silly because they post that warning yet if you go under package deals you get a dakota 3" Rancho suspension lift and 2" body lift along with wheels and tires as a package. Rancho specifically states on their Dakota lift "Do not combine with a bodylift"
I don't see a problem, just drive carefully and don't try to take curves like an R/T.

Message: They just put those warnings on so that the morons who roll thier trucks can't sue the company. Adding lifts and tires does change the center of gravity, but not enough to make your truck unsafe! It's just that the same morons who drive poorly with lifts are the same poeple who would try and sue the lift companies instead of taking the blame for their bad driving!!
I have 6" of lift on my truck and it still handles as well as stock! Well... almost. ;-P

Message: Hawkeye, it's good to see that familiar thumbnail pic more again. I had 8" of lift in my 90 S10 Blazer, 5" Suspension and 3" Body running 33x12.50's on AR Outlaw II wheels with a high positive offset so they stuck out about 2-3" further than stock. It handled very well and I purposely figured out the handling limitations early on. The Montero and Geo's were tippin over in stock form with sharp manuvuers, be thankful with a body and suspension lift your Dak should still be more safe than those death on wheels:) putting the tires out from truck further than stock enhances handling greatly and doesn't give you that feeling of tipping over at only 30mph around a sharp corner.
