Subject: light bar / bruch guard IP: Logged
Message: anyone have experience mounting a brush guard on a gen3 dak w/ a body lift? I want to make sure it's going to be adjustable so it's not sitting in front of my headlights. if I get a light bar, I don't want it way down below the bumper, either.

Message: You'll probably have to fabricate a bracket because it will sit lower and depending on what type of brush guard you have it won't work until you put on a bracket.I have a westin knockdown brushguard and I know I'll have to make up some kind of bracket because it mounts to the frame at the bottom and it wraps the contours of my bumper with about 1/2 space all the way up.So in short, yep you'll have to relocate with brackets.

Message: well, I went out today and bought a westin safari light bar and a set of hella 500 driving lights. Came to about $200 or so... plus a little more for the wire loom and zip ties. I took the bracket out of the box to check them out... it looks like I can cut about 3 inches out of the middle and weld it back together... that way I'll be running right where it was originally intended. otherwise, it would still look ok, but since I'm not in a hurry to put it on, I might as well do it right.

Message: Yep, I cut and welded. I burned my hand while doing it, but not bad though. I put it on my Truck. I liked how it looked. Then 2 hours later I wrecked my truck beyond repair. That damn tree just jumped out in front of me.
