Message: I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem. I rotate my tires myself and everytime i do it the rear driver's side tire sticks. I usually have to use a sledge hammer to beat it off. Do any of you have this problem?????

Message: Do you have LSD? I think that tire is the drive tire and maybe that could have something to do with it. Just a guess.

Message: Both my rear tires do the same thing. Do you have the aluminum wheels? I think it is because when the unfinished aluminum oxidizes(where it sits against the brake drum) it reacts with the steel brake drum and causes this.
I am no chemical engineer but it seems to be what’s happening.
Anyone else?

Message: Yep, the chemical reation is probably the problem. I put a small amount of anti-sieze lube on the face where the wheel and drum meet, and have not had a problem since.

Message: It is in fact from dis-similar metals in contact with each other for a period of time. This is why aircraft regulations prevent it from happening with aviation equipment.
It causes a rapid break down of both metals and corrosion will ruin the area.
Just my ten cents.
