Message: Has anyone put tow hooks on the new body style dakota without using a body lift. If so, where and how did you put them on.

I just put 2 tow hooks on my '99 Dak 4x4, one in the front and one in the rear. I put the front hook on the lower front frame section( it looks like a skid plate ) that covers the front nut on the passenger side a-arm and mounted the hook on the right side of the black plastic plug( plugs the access hole to the a-arm bolt nut ). There is already one hole from the factory so you only have to drill one hole.
I mounted the other hook on the driver side rear frame rail w/ the bolt heads facing the ground. Once again there is one factory drilled hole that you can use. You can't really see the rear hook unless you look under the truck.
The tow hooks are from autozone 7.50each. I can't belive this truck has no hooks from the factory!

Yup; several of us have. There's a lot of information right here in the "What to do about no front tow hooks" thread.
