Message: Well.. I officially got my truck stuck for the first time. After showing up a Full Sized Chevy w/ 33's I went back to the same hole about a month later.. and hit the hole full force. I noticed that my tires kept spinning but my truck wasn't moving...
Twisted the wheels as much as possible both ways.. Nothing. Turned off truck & picked up cell phone called a F-150 4x2 he showed up we hooked up the come along and he tried to pull me out.. His tires just were just spinning. Tried cranking the come along but it just pulled his truck towards me.. We stopped that. Had a Jeep YJ come out w/ his mud tires and try lol had all 4 tires spinning. Called my sisters boyfriend who came out in a 4x4 suburban that pulled us out quite nicely with only minor wheel spin. After all that and 3 hours later. I found out that the people driving around on the little 4wheelers had a F-250 Dually 4x4 parked right across the freeway. GAH!!!
Well I sucessfully burried my self past my diferentials and covered my axles with mud.
For those of you who bought the tow hook brackets from me. Yes I used one of the ones on the front.. It moved alittle because the holes in the frame are alittle bigger then 1/2 inch but nothing broke or bent all I had to do to get it back was loosen the nuts and move it back into place then tighten the crap out of it this time. So as long as you don't burry your frame you should be ok w/ those brackets ;-)
Note to self *buy winch*

Message: Yep, boomer pretty much says it. I have only been stuck twice in my dak. The first time I got stock I had no front tow hooks so we had to tie around the front axle, ahhhhh! last weekend I attached to the tow hooks I installed($20/a pair) and they worked great. Glad you got out ok.

Message: I also got stuck during the weekend and had to had some friends tow me out. We were out jumping my quad on an ATV track with other REAL "quads/dirtbikes" and got stuck in a mud/sand pit. Hehe... TONS of fun, but Knobbyman your right, it was fun being stuck for about half an hour, then I just wanted to get the quad(dak) out to play again! I kinda miss my previous Jeep whenever I get stuck. In any case, I still have a blast even without 4wheel drive, I'm just a little more cautious then you guys have to be. ;- )

Message: I got stuck a bunch of times in the snow with my 2WD 4.7L LSD 3.92 RC on new years. It was great, but I needed a lot more weight back there, so I had resort to the use of human bodies (alive ones BTW). It was a lot of fun, but a 4WD would have been much more suitable.

Message: I had fronttowhooks installed on my 2000 Dakota extended cab 4x4 when I bought it. The whole bracket affair looked strong but I didn't examine it that closely. The first time I had to use them was to pull a buddy out of a snowbank (F-150) and it nearly pulled the whole front of my truck off!. The whole bumper assembly pulled upwards with the hooks and nearly broke out the lights etc. Luckily the dealer put the bumper back into place free of charge since they had installed it but weren't able to figure out a way to reinforce the hooks so they removed them. There seems to be a plate bracket directly behind each hook on the assembly that doesn't have anywhere to bolt to. Do you have any suggestions or is there another type of hook assembly or bracket attachment available to fit a 2000 dakota? In my opinion a 4x4 shouldn't be made without hooks as standard equipment or at least a stronger setup available. Coincidentilly I didn't even budge the stuck vehicle and another Ford ended up pulling him out no problem. Bad publicity for Dodge. Help me!!
