Subject: Need help with X-mas gift IP: Logged
Message: My wife really wants to get me wheels and tires for X-mas and being the good husband I am I don't want to disappoint her;-) So here's my questions and I'm sorry if this is a recap but I've read a lot of posts and still am not totally clear on some of it.
I have a 00' 4X4 QC with 4.7L/3.92's/AT and keep in mind I pull a 3500# boat regularly.
From what I've read I can put on 33's if I add a Precision Suspension 3" body lift. Now, I want BFG's and I read that 10.5's clear and 12.5's rub. Do they make 11.5's, do they rub, what offset of wheel is best...stock?
About the lift, sounds pretty straight forward to do myself, any problems I should be aware of? Are you guys replacing stock bushings with Urethane? Any other accessories I should consider besides than the gap guards?
I realize this will affect my towing a little but will it have that much impact?
Thanks, Steve

Message: 33x10.5x15 should do it.. The lift is Performance Accessories 3" body lift the model is #PER60043
Backspacing shouldn't matter if you go w/ the 10.5's. I can't remember what backspacing hit the sweet spot but perhaps someone else will post that. Yes 11.5's are made they are just hard to find and I don't think BFG makes any tires that are that size.

Message: Thanks guys, which do you guys think would be better to go with? 33x10.5's or 32X11.5's.
I don't want them to rub at all but would like to get as much rubber under there as poosible.
Thanks again,
Steve

Message: Steve. I emailed you 3 pics
1 is of 33x10.50's on a truck with no lift. Supposidly they don't rub
The second is 33x10.50's on a truck with 5.5" tuff country lift.
I have been debating over which to buy for some time now. I was going to go with the 10.50's until I saw the truck with the lift. They look too dang skinny. I think with fender flares it looks dumb with skinny tires.
I will probably get a 2" body lift and 32x11.50's and move up to some 33x12.50's after I get the 3" rancho lift (see pic 3, my dream truck)
Anyway hope all this helps, check your email

Message: Corey, thanks for the pics, that silver (pic 3) truck looks sweet!!! If those 33X10.5's don't rub on the green truck I'd be really surprised and it just doesn't look right. Your right the 33 10.5's look like donuts in my opinion, to skinny. I just got back from looking at wheels and getting some specs. I think I'm going to go with the 3" precision body lift, 15x8 wheels with 5" backspacing, and BFG 32X11.5 AT's. I do have fender flairs so I think that should look pretty good and still be really functional.
Thanks again, for the email.

Message:
Go with the 10.50's you might be able to fit 11.50's but then you have to deal with rock chips, and i dont know if you do any offroading but the ll.50's may not rub, but when wheelin they might. i am raisin my 99 4x4 sport and i'm gonna put 33X10.50's on mine.

Message: The green has 33x10.50
The red is stock (it's what mine looks like)
I'll be putting on some 32x11.50's in the spring unless I run into a lot of money then I will go with the rancho lift and 33x12.50's
My focus right now is power adders to get my 318 putting out some power to turn those bigger meats.

Message: 32X11.50 will not rub on the stock rims at stock height, the work perfectly, some people have claimed 33X10.50 w/o a lift but that is pushing it... My 32X11.50's work perfectly at stock height..

Message: Update: well I put on the Performance Accessories 3" body lift. I then chose Eagle alloy 1189's with 3 3/4" backspacing and BFG All Terrain 33x12.50's.....not even close, rubbed on the front of the tire well and the back. Ended up going with 32X11.50's. No rubbing front or back and plenty of room for 4Xin'. Thanks for all the feedback, Steve.

Message: i would like to see how the 33x10.50's look on a 3" body lift.i think the pic with the 33x10.50 on the tuff country 5.5 makes the tires look skinny but with a 3"body lift i bet the look great with no rubbing at all
