| RE: Tow strap care? IP: Logged
Message: When your tow strap gets exposed to mud, sand, dirt, etc, you can wash it with a very mild detergent like Woolite -- stay away from harsh detergents like dish soap, and be sure to rinse with clean water. Hang up the strap to air dry, and if you're real good, keep it out of direct sun light to avoid UV damage.
As a general rule, periodically check the entire strap for wear and fraying, do keep it clean, and avoid contact with chemicals like gasoline and oil. It may seem like an over kill, but a shock load can send a broken tow strap through your rear window or into the tail gate.
