Subject: about the 3" lift IP: Logged
Message: i have a 01 dakota 4wd 4.7 with 3.92 gears
i need to know how big of a tire i can run and how wide it can be with the 3"lift
and with this combo hurt my power and gas milage
should i change gears maby when i do this
let me know what ya think

Message: Jump over to the "Raised Dakotas" message board or just do a search for tires, body lifts, etc... there is more information on those two subjects than you will ever need.
In the mean time, here's a hint: 3" lift will get you 33x12.50 tires (with slight rubbing in some situations). Mileage will be affected a little. 3.92 are pretty good. However, I'd love to upgrade to 4.10's or lower -- right now I'm only running 3.55's.

You can run 33X12.5s with 3.92's being more than low enough.

Message: 33x12.5 if you replace your rims at the same time like most have done get a 8" rim if you go any wider your going to rub alot. 3.55s work 3.92 are what youd really want to run.
