Message: Has anyone thought about steering stops to prevent 33s from rubbing on the frame with the 3 inch body lift? If so, do you know where I can buy them? Or has anyone had any luck making them? How about a picture?

Message: I made some for my former '99 CC 4x4. All I did was drill a hole through the lower factory stop, and insert a 1/4 bolt and nut. This gave enough room the tires. If you put a gob of grease on the bolts periodically, they will not pop or make noise. I had 32x11.50's on factory 15x8 wheels, and was getting slight rub on frame. This prevented this problem. My current '00 QC 4x4 had the same wheels/ tires with no rub. I guess the steering geometry change for '00 made the difference. Let me know if this helps.

Message: Yeah, I thought about what you're describing. Alternatively, I was thinking the I could make some kind of U shaped clamp (don't know how thick to make it) and just tighten it down on the back of the existing stop. That way I could avoid drilling. You think that could work?

Message: I guess that would work, if you could make it stay. From what I can remember the factory stop is tapered. This would make it difficult for the u-type clamp to stay put. I just drilled one 1/4" hole in each of them. It doesn't hurt anything. If you put smaller tires back on the truck or sell it, just remove the bolt, and nothing is affected.

Message: No problem. Hope it works out good for you. If you need a little more clearance you can just use thin washers under the bolt, until you get it right.
