Subject: wider tires for my dak IP: Logged
Message: i have a 95 dakota 4x4 and it has 235 75 15's on it and i was wondering if i could put some 235 85 16's on without it rubbing my fender flares?

Message: Not sure about metric sizes. What size is it closest to in inches. I know you could put on 32's if you cranked the torsion bars but you still may have a bit of rubbing. I have a 93 4x4 and put on 31x10.5 a/t's and there isnt any hint of rubbing on or offroad, going forward or revese, etc.

Message: 235x75 and 235x85 are the same width, but the 235x85 will be a bit taller.
235 is width
75 or 85 is percentagr of width in sidewall heigth.
Add extra tire 'tallness' to taller wheel and I think you need to be sure your front shocks are good. AND, where are you gettin 16" wheels for a 95 DAK? After market wheels with the same width and offset won't cause a problem. If you plan on using the newer DAK 16x8" wheels, they may be too wide for your 95. I tried it with the 15x8 and got some rubbing of the rim against a bolt on the calipers.
